Mingqi (Friedrich) Yuan
Trinity College, Cambridge, 2024.
I’m a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Agentic Intelligence Lab, The University of Hong Kong (HKU). I received my PhD degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPU), fortunately supervised by Prof. Wenjun Zeng and Prof. Bo Li. In 2024, I was a visiting scholar at the Bio-Inspired Robotics Laboratory, The University of Cambridge, fortunately advised by Prof. Fumiya Iida.
My research career is also complemented by valuable experiences at leading industrial research hubs, covering intelligent robotics and intelligent system research fields across LimX Dynamics (2025), Tencent Robotics X Lab (2022), and JD.com, Inc. (2019).
My research broadly spans, not limited to, the following directions:
- Reinforcement Learning (Sample efficiency, intrinsic motivation, etc.)
- Embodied Intelligence (Humanoid robotics, VLA models, etc.)
- Continual Learning (Anti-forgetting, plasticity, etc.)
- Machine Learning Systems (AI Infra, agent-based systems, etc.)
